This policy explains what data Pharos collects, how we store and secure it, who we share it with, and how you can ask us to delete it.
Who we are
Pharos is a managed maritime-intelligence service for fleet operators. In this policy, "we" and "Pharos" refer to the operator of pharos-maritime.com. You can reach us at sales@pharos-maritime.com.
What data we collect
- Fleet and vessel-position data. The position and security notifications you choose to forward from your existing tracking services (for example MarineTraffic, Podium5 or VesselFinder) — such as vessel identity and IMO number, position, voyage information and related alerts. This is a Bring-Your-Own-Data model: you decide what to forward.
- Contact data. When you request a pilot or contact us: your name, company, fleet size, email address and any message you send.
- Technical data. Standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and timestamps) and an anti-bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on our contact form.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry and set up and run your pilot.
- To ingest your feeds and generate the daily risk briefs and related intelligence for your fleet.
- To operate, secure, maintain and improve the service.
How and where we store it
Your data is processed on cloud infrastructure, primarily Cloudflare. Each customer's data is isolated in its own tenant, resolved from a verified login; any third-party feed credentials you provide are encrypted at rest. An EU-based hosting option, and an on-prem ingest option that keeps position data inside your own environment, are available for operators who require them.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use a small set of sub-processors to run the service: infrastructure and hosting providers, email-delivery providers, and AI language-model providers used to generate briefs from fleet data. We share data only as needed to provide the service, or where required by law.
How long we keep it, and deletion
We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete your data at any time. Because the service is multi-tenant, removing your tenant deletes your data, your ingest address and your access in a single action. To request deletion, email sales@pharos-maritime.com.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, and to object to or restrict how we process it. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
